Common Questions
What curriculum do you use?
Our curriculum is primarily aligned with the CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement), with the inclusion of certain international elements. Starting from grade 1, we integrate the Cambridge Primary International Curriculum (CPI) for English, Mathematics, Global Perspectives and Natural Science. For Coding & Robotics, our curriculum is based on the Resolute Education framework, starting from grade R.
How does CAPS and Cambridge Primary International (CPI) compare
The CAPS curriculum is a national curriculum that places a significant emphasis on content knowledge. It is designed for students within a specific national context.
On the other hand, the Cambridge Primary International Curriculum (CPI) is tailored for students aged 5 to 11 and is employed in international schools globally. This curriculum offers a comprehensive and integrated approach, prioritising international-mindedness, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning.
CPI focuses on cultivating essential 21st-century life skills, including creativity (finding innovative solutions), collaboration (effective teamwork), communication (confident speaking and presenting), critical thinking (constructive evaluation of information), learning to learn (developing effective learning skills), and social responsibility (contributing to social groups and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds).
Do you have a uniform? Are only the listed items allowable as uniform
Yes, we have a uniform policy. You can either opt for the formal school uniform available for purchase at the approved supplier in town, or create your own uniform using navy and white attire.
At what age do you start accepting children?
We welcome children from the age of 18 months.
Which grades do you offer?
We provide learning from grade RRRR to grade 6.
Do you provide food?
No, we do not offer food services. Learners are required to bring their own meals. Please refer to our Family Information Pack, accessible for download at https://growthmind.africa/FIP.pdf, for detailed information on any food restrictions and guidelines.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer a 20% discount for families with two or more learners enrolled. We offer a 10% discount for those who make annual payments by January. Additionally, a 9% discount is provided for those who choose to make quarterly payments by the first month in each term.
What is the monthly school fee?
We don’t have a monthly school fee; instead, our fee is annual. However, we provide the flexibility for payment in 11 monthly or 4 quarterly instalments. Monthly payments are expected by the end of each month from January to November.
When are quarterly discounts due?
Quarterly discounts must be submitted by the following dates: 31 January, 30 April, 31 July, and 31 October. Payments received after these dates will not qualify for the 9% discount.
